About the project
Never too late
The website for the World Masters Athletics Marathon Championships 2026 was built as the official digital platform for an international sporting event taking place in Zagreb on 11 October 2026. The aim was a clear, functional site giving participants from around the world straightforward access to everything they need to know about the championship.
“Never Too Late” is the championship’s central message. It brings together the world’s best runners over the age of 35 and serves as a reminder that a passion for running, for competing and for getting better doesn’t recognise an age limit. For local runners the line carries additional weight, since a world championship in your own city is a rare opportunity, and the chance to compete in front of a home crowd is something they’ll remember for years.
The website
Sport, city and tourism
The site brings together everything a competitor needs before and during the championship: the competition handbook, the entry form, the race map, timing information, the start list and the entry itself, all in one place rather than scattered across announcements.
Alongside that it tells the story of the Zagreb Marathon, whose long tradition was one of the reasons Zagreb was chosen to host the championship. A dedicated section covers the city itself, from accommodation recommendations to links to the Zagreb Tourist Board and the Croatian National Tourist Board, since most participants arrive with family and stay longer than the race itself.
While part of the content came directly from the organizers, the rest was written by us during the design and development process, to cover every important detail and round out the complete story of the championship.
