RANG
A web application for membership management and competition organisation at the Croatian Deaf Sports Association.
Four levels, one system
The association needed a central internal system to run everything in one place, from planning and staging competitions through to finalising them, together with a complete database of every athlete. The system is built on four levels of access, each with its own view and its own functions: the association approves memberships and runs competitions, local associations manage the clubs in their area, clubs handle their athletes’ administration and enter them for competitions, and members follow their fixtures, schedule and results.
The second challenge was the database itself. An athlete can belong to several clubs across different sports and change club over the years, so the same person could easily end up recorded in several places in different versions. Everything is therefore tied to a single identifier, which the system uses to work out whether it is dealing with a new person, an existing member or a transfer. An athlete’s profile brings together personal details, documents, club memberships and competition history, and access to it is governed by level.

From local to European level
It started with a first version covering membership and domestic competitions. The association either organises a competition itself or issues a call that local associations apply to as hosts. Once a host is chosen, the association sets the date, clubs enter their members, and results are published after the event.
For the 7th European Deaf Futsal Championship in Poreč (March 2026) an additional OC module was built, with a fifth level for representatives of visiting countries, who entered their athletes and support staff through an English-language interface. The association used the module to run the championship logistics, from transfers and accommodation to accreditation.
The system is in daily use and development continues.
